Brief Description

1989 witnessed the end of Communism in Europe. 30 years on, the legacies of the ancien régimes remain relevant not only to scholarly discussion, but also to the state of European democracies against the backdrop of growing illiberal tendencies. To what extent may one attribute the flaws of some of these regimes to their communist past? What lessons of the past have we not learnt? What prospects are there for the idea of Open Society to take roots in Europe and elsewhere? Join our distinguished panellists to have an informed discussion about Communism and Postcommunism.
