講座簡介

This presentation delves into the latest findings from the OECD Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) 2022, which evaluated the performance of 5,000 15-year-olds in Hong Kong against their counterparts in 80 other economies. Hong Kong’s education system continues to excel in equity, ranking second globally, and provides exceptional preparation in mathematics and reading. However, challenges emerge in the context of a world increasingly focused on STEM education, as Hong Kong can only boast of a relatively small pool of students excelling in science. Additionally, concerns arise regarding inadequate physical activity among students, low levels of family support, and a low sense of belonging in schools. This talk will explore these and other strengths and weaknesses in depth and discuss strategies to propel Hong Kong’s education system forward in a rapidly evolving global landscape.
