Teacher

Dr. Heidi Huang joined the General Education China Programme of the Office of University General Education and CW Chu College in August 2025. She received her MA and PhD in Transcultural Studies from the University of Lyon (L’Université Jean Moulin Lyon III) and conducted her post-doctoral research at the City University of Hong Kong. Her research interests include comparative literature and world literature, Sino-European Transcultural Encounters, Chinese literature and culture in global contexts. She has taught at Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Lingnan University. She was associate professor at the School of International Studies and coordinator at the Center for European Studies at Sun Yat-sen University. Dr. Huang is a prolific writer whose academic articles and book reviews could be found in various renowned journals and magazines. She is also the invited interpreter and translator for the International Poetry Nights in Hong Kong. She has translated several books into Chinese including The Eighth Chinese Merchant and the Disappeared Seamen written by Prof. Gregory B. Lee, The Story of Us: From Cave Art to K-Pop written by Prof. Martin Puchner, and The Found Generation: Chinese Communists in Europe during the Twenties by Prof. Marilyn Levine.
