大學通識教育簡介會:開設或修訂大學通識科目

自2004年起,大學通識科目分為四個範圍,分別為:範圍A 中華文化傳承、範圍B 自然、科學與科技、範圍C 社會與文化,以及範圍D 自我與人文。承蒙全校各學院四十多個學系全力支持,目前大學通識教育部提供三百多個大學通識科目;在2020/21學年,一共開設了三百五十四班,有超過一萬六千學生修讀。同時,自2020/21學年始,大學通識教育部以17個可持續發展目標為框架,在四範圍科目基礎上推出「可持續發展目標學習計劃」(SDG Study Scheme)。此計劃以學科知識為經,經驗實踐為緯,鼓勵同學知行合一,以可持續發展為目標面對未來的挑戰。

我們為有意在2022/23學年增設或修訂大學通識科目的學系同仁及老師主辦以下簡介會,誠摯邀請您出席:

我們將在會上說明大學通識教育課程的設計理念、大學通識科目審批的程序及準則,介紹「可持續發展目標學習計劃」的最新發展,並邀請在2021/22學年上學期任教可持續發展目標通識課(SDG-GE)的教師,分享他們在推展體驗式學習的經驗。此外,我們亦會展示大學通識科目網上平臺 - GE Course Proposal and Inventory System (GECPI) 的操作方法,示範如何提交建議書及查詢庫存科目資料。

University General Education Briefing Session:
Proposing or Revising a University General Education Course

Starting from 2004, all University General Education (University GE) courses have been categorized into Four Areas: Area A Chinese Cultural Heritage, Area B Nature, Science and Technology, Area C Society and Culture, and Area D Self and Humanity. With the support from over 40 teaching units, more than 300 University GE courses are offered. In the 2020/21 academic year, 354 classes of University GE courses were conducted, and more than 16,000 students enrolled. Using the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a framework, the Office of University General Education launched the SDG Study Scheme in the same year to prepare students for the challenges of tomorrow.

This briefing session targets at teaching units and teachers interested in proposing new University GE courses or in revising the existing ones intended for implementation from 2022/23 academic year. in this briefing session, we will introduce the design of the University GE programme as a whole, and go through the procedures and criteria of University GE course approval.

Regarding the SDG Study Scheme of the General Education curriculum, we will introduce the criteria of SDG-GE and SDG-SE courses and invite views from colleagues to discuss the progress on launching SDG-related service learning activities, and invite teachers who have received funding from the SDGs-related Experiential Learning Activities Fund in Term 1, 2021/22 to share their experiences in teaching and organizing SDGs-related experiential learning activities. Finally, we will highlight and conduct a concise demonstration of the GE Course Proposal and Inventory System (GECPI), a web-based system for the submission of University GE Course Proposals and the inventory of University GE course materials.

This briefing session will be conducted through ZOOM and the link will be provided to registered participants at a date close to the event.
